Rooftop Tea Barcelona started as a passion project, and became a full-time pursuit, mid-pandemic, for Angela Carroll, your humble host and patisserie chef extraordinaire!
Born in London, Angela is one of four sisters raised in a vivacious Scottish household and is happiest spending long afternoons surrounded by family and friends with a cup of tea and cake in hand. When she moved to Barcelona in 2008, she longed to recreate her happy place in her adopted home…and so, Rooftop Tea was born.
“‘I started baking and hosting Afternoon Tea parties on my roof terrace for my friends here. After copious amounts of sun, cake and cava, they convinced me to make a go of it!
I trained as a professional pastry chef at Atelier and have spent years perfecting the perfect scone recipe. Then, mid-pandemic, I started working from a cute commercial kitchen in Gràcia.”
Although she still hosts private parties on her beautiful Sant Antoni terrace, Angela has expanded her horizons to offer a delightful range of made-to-order cakes and bakes, from freshly baked scones to beautifully curated treat boxes, as well as all bespoke catering for special occasions and events.
